Working with snapshots in discussions

Sharing 3D snapshots in discussions Users can share 3D snapshots in discussions to present visual aids to other discussion participants, identify issues that are not obvious in a written description, and speed up the decision making process without writing a long comment. To enable users to share 3D snapshots in discussions, set the Ac0SnapshotDiscussionsEnabled preference to true. Users can create discussions using previously captured product snapshots. When users create a new discussion from the 3D tab on an assembly where visualization is installed, they can use Capture Snapshot . Enabling users to use snapshots in discussions Users can share specific views and configurations of models directly within discussion threads if snapshots are enabled for use in discussions. Using snapshots in discussions provides visual context that enhances communication and understanding between discussion participants. The presence and configuration of an access control list (ACL) is necessary for enabling users to leverage snapshots within discussions. If visualization is installed and users want to share 3D snapshots, then the SnapshotDiscussionsAccessor ACL must be configured in the Access Manager. The SnapshotDiscussionsAccessor ACL enforces participant checks and gives permissions to those participants to view a snapshot shared in a discussion. Procedure From the Access Manager, search for the Has Type (Vis_Session) ACL. Select the Has Type (Vis_Session) > HasProperty (Vis_Session:fnd0ShareLevel=Private) SnapshotDiscussionsAccessor ACL. Click Edit . Add the SnapshotDiscussionsAccessor ACL in this rule if the ACL does not exist. If you create the SnapshotDiscussionsAccessor ACL for the Has Type (Vis_Session) or the Has Class (Fnd0AppSession) > Has Attribute (Fnd0AppSession:fnd0ShareLevel=Private) rule, then the ACL is created for both rules. Search for the Has Class (Fnd0AppSession) ACL. Select the Has Class (Fnd0AppSession) > Has Attribute (Fnd0AppSession:fnd0ShareLevel=Private) SnapshotDiscussionsAccessor ACL. Ensure that the SnapshotDiscussionsAccessor ACL exists for this rule. Ensure that the Discussion Participant has read () access. If not, click Edit. Grant the Discussion Participant read access.
