Running the UMS in non-UTF-8 environments

If you are running Teamcenter in an environment that does not support UTF-8, use the ums_import_unit_definitions utility to convert UMS UTF-8 symbols to ASCII characters. The unit definitions file contains characters requiring UTF-8 encoding. If your environment does not support UTF-8 encoded characters, use the ums_import_unit_definitions with the -utf8_mapping_file option to replace the UTF-8 characters in the unit definition file with ASCII characters you specify. Alternatively, you can update the default UTF-8 mapping file located at TC_DATA\ums_utf8character_mapping.csv.
