Configure pool manager monitoring with the Teamcenter management console

This procedure describes how to configure pool manager monitoring with the Teamcenter management console. You can also configure pool manager monitoring with a configuration file. The following dynamic changes are temporary. To make persistent changes, modify the TC_ROOT\pool_manager\confs<config_name>\poolMonitorConfig.xml file. Procedure Start the Teamcenter management console. By default, the address is http://host:8083/mgmt/console. Under Server Manager, select the server pool you want to administer. Click Manager Monitoring. This view lists the monitoring mode and all the metrics available for monitoring. Set the Master Monitoring Mode value to one of the following: Off Disables monitoring of all the metrics listed in the file. Disable Alerts Enables monitoring of all the metrics listed in the file, but disables all notifications of critical events regardless of individual notification settings on any metric. Normal Enables monitoring of all the metrics listed in the file. Configure responders. Click EmailResponder1. (Optional) To be notified when criteria reaches the specified threshold, specify from whom, to whom, and how frequently email notification of critical events are sent by setting the following EmailResponder1 values. All EmailResponder1 values in all child monitoring metrics must match the values set here. From_address Specify the address from which the notification emails are sent. To_address Specify the address to which the notification emails are sent. You can specify multiple email addresses separated by semicolons (;). Host_address Specify the server host from which the email notifications are sent. In a large deployment (for example, with multiple server managers) the host address identifies the location of the critical events. Suppression_period Specify the amount of time (in seconds) to suppress email notification of critical events. Click Apply. Click LoggerResponder1. (Optional) To be notified when criteria reaches the specified threshold, specify to whom, and to which file, critical events are logged by setting the following LoggerResponder values. All LoggerResponder values in all child monitoring metrics must match the LoggerResponder values set here. Log_filename Specify the name of the file to which critical events are logged. Suppression_period Specify the amount of time (in minutes) to suppress logging of critical events to the log file. Click Apply. Configure monitoring of any of the server manager metrics listed under the Metrics heading. Click the desired metric (for example, ColdServers). Hover the mouse on each metric to learn about the metric. Click Events to see events that have occurred for a metric. Hover the mouse over the events to view information about the possible causes and recommended actions for the event. Set the value for the mode (the Configure_mode attribute) to one of the following: Off Specifies that no metric data is collected. Collect Specifies that metric data is collected and displayed in the console view. This is the default setting. Alert Specifies that metric data is collected and displayed in the console view. Email notifications are sent when critical events occur. (Optional) To be notified when the criteria reaches the specified threshold, specify the EmailResponder1 and LoggerResponder1 values for the Responder Ids attribute. By default, these values are set to EmailResponder1 and LoggerResponder1. If you have configured multiple EmailResponder IDs, make sure you specify the desired EmailResponder. Set the remaining values to specify criteria that must be met to initiate a critical event for the metric. After specifying values for each monitoring metric, click Apply.
