Preparing structure changes offline in Excel

The Work Offline and Import output mode extracts object property data to an Excel file that is preconfigured for subsequent importing to Teamcenter through Teamcenter Client for Microsoft Office. Select this mode when you want to combine structure data and import processing instructions in a single input file.

The import process uses this input to create or modify the corresponding structure in Teamcenter. The preconfigured file saves time and effort in setting up the input.

Caution:

• The output file cannot be used for a subsequent import if the selected structure exceeds Excel's eight-level limit. In this file, all objects are exported to the same level and Excel's Outline features are disabled.
• Before you start the export process, ensure that you do not select objects based on types other than Item and Item Revision. Otherwise, the subsequent import fails without notification.
