Volume Management migration overview

Migration moves infrequently used Teamcenter files from primary storage space to either third-party storage systems or to destination volumes. All data continues to appear online to users, whether the data is stored online, near-line, or offline. Reverse migration is available only for hierarchical storage management (HSM) migration policies. This functionality returns files to the primary tier based on the number of times it has been accessed on the secondary or tertiary tier.
