Exporting data to Microsoft Office Excel

A Microsoft Office Excel export file contains the values of Teamcenter properties that are specified in a selected Excel template. The output file can be generated in different modes, depending on your purpose.

Excel export templates control both the format and the content of exported Teamcenter data. An export template specifies the properties whose values are exported for the selected objects, and defines the output format of the exported data.

Note: To further control exported content, you can add closure rules and transfer modes to Excel templates. Closure rules are not allowed in the body text of requirements.

Exports of Teamcenter data are either static (unchangeable) or live (modifiable). Using live Excel, updates to data in the exported Excel spreadsheet result in real-time updates to Teamcenter.

Live Excel export includes a bulk mode feature that can enhance Excel export performance in certain situations.

Note: Microsoft Excel 2010, or a later version, is required to use live Excel.
