Grant group access to a Teamcenter Key Manager satellite

By default, the Teamcenter Key Manager satellite can only be accessed by the operating system user that starts Key Manager satellite on the workstation. This user is typically the same operating system user that installs Key Manager satellite. When Teamcenter Key Manager is enabled, for example, Key Manager satellite access is necessary to execute Teamcenter utilities on the satellite workstation. To allow additional users to execute Teamcenter utilities on the workstation, these users must be added to an operating system group that is granted access to Key Manager satellite using Deployment Center. Use the following procedure to grant permissions to other users to access the satellite. These steps must be performed by the user that installed Key Manager on the satellite workstation. Procedure Create or use an existing operating system group containing the users that are to be granted group access to the Key Manager satellite. Log onto Deployment Center. Click Environments to display the environments scanned by Deployment Center. Select the environment with the Key Manager satellite installed. Click the Deploy Software tab. On the Components tab, choose the Key Manager Satellite component. On the Options tab, navigate to Group Permission Setting. Check Enable Group Permission? and enter the name of the operating system group containing the users requiring access. On the Deploy tab, generate the installation scripts. Review the Deploy Instructions information related to the generated installation scripts. Follow the steps in Run the deployment scripts in the Deployment Center help collection to run the deployment scripts for the satellite. If you are deploying Teamcenter Key Manager on Linux as a user without root privileges, log on as a user with root privileges and run the following script from the Teamcenter Key Manager installation directory ($INSTALL_DIR): Copy $INSTALL_DIR/KeyManagerSatellite/root_post_tasks_key_manager_satellite.ksh The Teamcenter Key Manager satellite is run as a service on Windows, and is started automatically. Ensure the service was successfully started as part of the deployment. If it is not running, start it using the steps in Start and stop Teamcenter Key Manager services. The Teamcenter Key Manager satellite is run as a daemon that may need to be started manually if Java is not installed on the local machine. Ensure the following daemon is started. If necessary, start it as described in Start and stop Teamcenter Key Manager daemons. Copy rc.key.manager.satellite.
