Systems Engineering interface > MS Word view
Switch the Microsoft Word View to plain text
You can switch the Microsoft Word View to plain text, which loads faster than rich text and speeds up content browsing.
The Body Cleartext property is displayed in the Summary view, on the Overview tab under Item Properties. You can insert the Body Cleartext property column in the Requirements view. Use the Set the number of rows per line list to display multiple text lines as necessary.
Caution: On Teamcenter servers using the ISO 8859-1 character set (
TC_CHARACTER_ENCODING_SET), some characters of the rich-text format cannot be translated to plain text. Such characters include, for example, em dashes, symbols such as Ohm signs (Ω), and Word's smart quotation marks. These characters are replaced by question marks (?) in plain text and in the Systems Engineering interface, for example, in object names and in certain property values.Requirement content includes the text of any Word callout shapes that are inserted in the document. If callout text occurs in the first 2,000 characters, the requirement's Body Cleartext property shows the callout text inline with the overall content.
Procedure
Choose Edit→Options to display the Options dialog box.
In the tree on the left, select Systems Engineering to display the preferences.
In the preferences pane on the right, select the Browse Clear Text check box.
Note: The Browse Clear Text check box is cleared by default.
