Enable the BrowserFlags Registry entry for Microsoft Word

Procedure

  1. Create and open a text file with any text editor.
  2. Paste the following content into the text file:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Word.Document.8]
"BrowserFlags"=dword:80000024
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Word.RTF.8]
"BrowserFlags"=dword:80000024
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Word.Document.12]
"BrowserFlags"=dword:80000024
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Word.DocumentMacroEnabled.12]
"BrowserFlags"=dword:80000024
  1. Save the file as EnableBrowserFlags.txt, and then close the file.
  2. Rename the text file to EnableBrowserFlags.reg.
  3. Double-click EnableBrowserFlags.reg to merge the file into the registry.

When you open a file in the Word View, it opens in the embedded Word View.
