Share a program with other sites

As a program manager, you can share a program from your local site to other remote sites within your Multi-Site network, creating replica objects at those locations. When sharing, you can specify how to manage site ownership, object ownership, and other transfer options.

Prerequisites

Your administrator has installed and configured Multi-Site Collaboration for all sites in your network.

Procedure

  1. Select or open a program.
  2. Click More Commands > Share > Share with Sites. The Share with Sites panel is displayed listing target sites and several transfer options.
  3. In the Share with Sites panel, select one or more remote sites from the Destinations list to be used as target destinations.
  4. From the Option Set list, select the transfer option set to use when sharing objects. The transfer option set defines the configuration rules when transferring data between sites. The available option sets vary depending on your site's configuration. For more information, see Comparison of legacy and TC XML-based Multi-Site Collaboration.
  5. To transfer site ownership of the program, select Transfer Site Ownership.

Note: Only one site can own the program at a time. The site with ownership can modify the program. The remote site contains a replica of the program.

  1. Click Share.

You will receive a notification when the transfer completes.

Note: Alternatively, you can share the program with other sites by publishing it. Your administrator can also use the data_share utility for various Multi-Site Collaboration operations, such as sharing bulk data to remote sites.
