Configuration of a fixed assembly in a Usage BOM A fixed assembly is a part that has a fixed set of child parts. A fixed part cannot have a variability associated with it. A fixed assembly in a Usage BOM can have multiple revisions released over a period, and each revision can have various parts. For example, consider the following revisions of the assembly Alternatorthat differ in their part breakdown, with different parts and components. You open revision A of this assembly for the first time on a future date, namely, April 1, 2024. The revision rule applied is as follows: Latest Working (Any status, Configured by Release date) Date = Today (April 1, 2024) In this case, as the date for the configuration is later than the valid range for revision A, which is from January 1, 2024, to January 31, 2024, the revision rule date is automatically modified to match the start date already specified for revision A. The modified revision rule appears as follows: Latest Working (modified) (Any status, Configured by Release date) Date = January 1, 2024 It is possible to manually override this revision rule criteria to different values. If you have set an active change notice, the release date set on this change notice supersedes all other dates for configuration.
