Working with multiple object selections

In Systems Engineering you can:

  • Modify the properties of one object at a time or modify the common properties of multiple selected objects in a single action.
    • For example, you can select one or more multiple requirement objects, right-click, and then choose Properties.
    • If you select one requirement, the Properties dialog box appears.
    • If you select multiple requirements, the Common modifiable properties dialog box appears.
  • Submit a single selected object or submit multiple selected objects to a workflow process.
    • For example, you can select one or more requirements objects and then choose File→New→Workflow Process. The object or objects you selected appear in the Targets folder on the New Process Dialog dialog box.
  • Revise one selected object or revise multiple selected objects in a single action.
    • For example, you can select one object and then choose File→Revise to access the Revise wizard. You can use the steps in the wizard to further define the new revision of the object.
    • Or, you can select multiple objects and then choose File→Revise to access the Multiple Revise dialog box. Using the Multiple Revise dialog box, you are limited to editing the name of the new revision.

Note: To enable the ability to revise multiple selected objects using the Multiple Revise dialog box, the Multiple_revise_dialog_visible preference must be set to true.
