Configure the alignment of an existing engineering BOM and design structure
Perform revision or occurrence alignments using a utility
You can perform design revision-part revision alignment or design occurrence-part occurrence alignment using the pma0_align_dbom_and_ebom utility. If you perform occurrence alignment, the utility internally aligns the revisions as well.
Prerequisites
Map the properties for alignment.
Procedure
You can run the utility in the following modes:

(Optional) To generate a report, you can use the -generateReport option.
Results
The following results can occur, depending on the situation:
- If there is a conflict, the utility does not create any alignment, and failures are added to the report.
- If the engineering BOM (Usage BOM or Assembly BOM) is in the released state, the utility bypasses access restrictions and creates the alignment.
- If any subassembly is not aligned, the alignment of its children is also skipped and reported.
- If the utility encounters multiple candidates for a design, the alignment is skipped and reported.
- The scope of alignment is determined based on the immediate parent and the item provided as input. BOM occurrences that are out of scope are not aligned.
