Create a program view

Procedure

  1. In My Teamcenter, select a folder in which to create the new program view, and then choose File→New→Program View. Teamcenter displays the New Program View dialog box.

  2. Enter a name for the program view.

  3. (Optional) Enter a description of the program view.

  4. (Optional) Import an existing program view XML file.

  5. (Optional) Select Choose Column and specify the columns to display in the program view.

  6. Select Schedule, Schedule Task, or Combined in the Category and Type list.

    Note: When you specify Schedule Task as the Category and Type, State is an available column you can display.

  7. Select columns in the Available Columns list and click > to copy them to the Displayed Columns list. To remove columns, select them and click < (or << to remove all).

  8. Click OK after you specify the columns to display in the program view.

  9. To specify available schedule task attributes for the program view, set the ScheduleTaskAvailableAttributes preference.

  10. Click NextChoose schedules for the program view.

    • In the Choose Schedules dialog box, select schedules from the Available Schedules list and click > (or >> for all) to copy them to Selected Schedules.
    • Note: You cannot select schedule templates for a program view.
    • Use the Search box to find a particular schedule.
  11. Click NextSet filters for the program view.

    • In the Filter dialog box, select And/Or to combine filter conditions, a Field Name, and a Condition (e.g. Less Than, Equal To, Between).
    • Click the button next to Value and select a value (allowed values vary by field type).
    • Click OK.
    • Set the ProgramViewFilterProperties preference to control which schedule/schedule task attributes are available in this Filter dialog box.
  12. Click NextSet the group attributes for the program view.

    • In the Group Attributes dialog box, under Group By → Field Name, select an attribute to group by.
    • The Schedules option can only be selected as the highest-level grouping (or not at all), due to system hierarchy; selecting a grouping condition removes summary tasks from the Gantt chart.
    • To group date/time/numerical columns by range, click the Range button next to Field Name, then enter From/To values in the Select Range dialog box (repeat for additional ranges, then click Done).
    • Note: if a value falls in two ranges, Program view places it under the lower range.
    • Under Order, choose ascending, descending, or none. Under Cell background, pick a display color for the group node.
    • Under Rollup, click the Rollup button, choose a Field Name and a rollup condition (e.g. sum), and repeat for more rollup conditions. Deleting a rollup condition also deletes rollups nested under it.
    • Repeat the "Then By" row process to add further grouping levels.
    • Set the ProgramViewGroupProperties preference to control which attributes appear in the Group Attributes dialog box.
  13. Click Finish. Teamcenter creates the new program view.

  14. Either double-click the program view to send it to Schedule Manager, or right-click it and choose Send To→Schedule Manager.

Note: This step may not be necessary if Open on Create is selected.
