Repropagate effectivity
If the release effectivity of an unreleased change notice is updated after it is already propagated to the part usages as their element effectivity, you must repropagate the effectivity from the change notice to the respective part usages.
Procedure From Launcher, click Changes.
If this option is unavailable, search for it. You can pin it from the search results for future access.
Open the required change for which its release effectivity has been modified.
The Affected Items tab shows the IMPACTED ITEMS and SOLUTION ITEMS for the change notice. The CHANGE SUMMARY section in the Overview tab shows the modifications made in the context of this change notice.
Verify the data first and then click the Repropagate Effectivity button in the Overview tab.
Results The element effectivity of the part usages is updated as per the new release effectivity of the change notice. In certain cases, the element effectivity of a part usage is displayed as Not Effective, which implies that the part is no longer effective in the structure. On hovering the mouse over the element effectivity, Teamcenter displays:
0 if a unit effectivity was applied on the part.
5 Jan 1900 to 5 Jan 1900 in UTC (or a subsequent date in your time zone considering the UTC time) if a date effectivity was applied on the part.
Example Consider an engine assembly that includes a piston, rubber gasket, and stud, created in the context of ECN1 with a release effectivity from 1st Jan 2022 to UP. After this, ECN1 was released. Later, due to business requirements, it was decided that the stud from XYZ company should be used from 1st Jan 2022 to 31st Dec 2022. Consequently, ECN2, effective from 1st Jan 2022 to 31st Dec 2022, was introduced. With ECN2 set as the active change, Teamcenter splits the part usage of the stud into two in the engine assembly. The effectivity of the stud procured from XYZ company is set to 1st Jan 2022 to 31st Dec 2022, while the effectivity of the other stud is set to 1st Jan 2023 to UP. At this stage, due to further changes in business requirements, it was decided that the stud from XYZ company will always be used. Therefore, the effectivity of ECN2 is modified to 1st Jan 2022 to UP, and this change is repropagated to the engine assembly. As a result of this repropagation, the element effectivity of both part usages of the stud is now 1st Jan 2022 to UP. In such a situation, Teamcenter automatically sets the part usage of the older stud created under ECN1 as Not Effective and sets the effectivity of the stud from XYZ company to 1st Jan 2022 to UP.
