Developing requirements > Unstructured (flat file) import
Assign additional property values for the requirement objects in the unstructured document
The Property assignments section of the configuration file specifies the property assignments that are used by the parser. The property assignment determines what properties are associated to a particular object.
Note: Any property that is a mandatory property must be specified in the property assignments section, so it contains a valid value. The import fails if a mandatory property of the imported item is a null value.
Procedure
- In the unstructured document, define new requirement objects or insert existing requirement objects using the Assign ID dialog box.
- On the line following the requirement object identifier in the document, type the property assignment for the requirement object in the following format:
[P:Property name:Property value]
For example, the unstructured document contains the following requirement revision identifier and property assignment:
[ID:REQ-000200] Requirement revision identifier
[P:Description:Requirement description] Property assignment for requirement revision
After importing the unstructured document to Teamcenter, the Description property of the requirement revision is set to "Requirement description".
