requirements-management
In Word, when you open a requirement specification structure, the object hierarchy for the structure appears in the Requirements pane. The Requirements pane enables you to navigate and change the requirement structure.
In the Requirements pane, you can create a copy of a released requirement object by marking it for save as. After performing the Save As operation on the requirement object, you can edit the requirement information.
Requirement objects include requirement specifications, requirements, or paragraphs. The requirement objects must be released and not modifiable before you can mark them for Save As.
The Save As operation allows you to:
- Create new copies of existing released requirements in Word.
- Make changes to the new copy of the released requirement in Word.
- Commit those changes to Teamcenter by saving the Word document.
The requirements structure marked for save as can be an imprecise or precise structure. Imprecise structures are dynamic. An imprecise structure has links (occurrences) to item objects in the structure. Precise structures are fixed structures. A precise assembly has links (occurrences) to item revision objects in the structure.
Depending on the conditions met, when you perform a Save As operation on a selected released object in the structure, one of the following occurs:
- Only the single selected object is marked for save as.
- All of the parent nodes to the top of the structure, including the selected object, are marked for save as, until an open BOMview revision (BVR) object is found.
Note: All objects below the objects marked for save as are copied by reference to the new structure.
