Install Smart Discovery Indexing using Deployment Center

Add Smart Discovery Indexing to your existing Teamcenter environment by selecting the application, entering configuration parameters, and running deployment scripts.

Prerequisites

Before you install Smart Discovery Indexing, ensure that you have set up Indexing Engine and Indexer. Additionally, if your business requires the ability to find content within files, you must set up File Content Indexing. For detailed information on how to set these up, see "Understanding the indexing process and determining your indexing strategy."

Procedure

1. Log in to Deployment Center.

2. In the Applications task, select the following applications: Teamcenter > Teamcenter > Active Content.

   If your Teamcenter environment is integrated with NX and you want to generate and update the bounding boxes, select Teamcenter > Teamcenter > Engineering Process Management > Bounding box generation from NX.

3. Choose your situation and follow the corresponding instructions.

   • To index the structures using Teamcenter command prompt, skip this step.

   • To install the Smart Discovery Indexing-related services, go to the Components task, select the Indexer component and then select the following check boxes:

     Note: These services can be installed only through Deployment Center and are not available for installation through TEM.

     • Install Discovery Auto-Index Service — This check box creates the service and then indexes the newly added structures automatically. If you want the structure to be indexed for massive model visualization (MMV), click the Include Massive Model Visualization (MMV) Indexing check box.
     • Install Discovery Sync Service — This check box creates the service and synchronizes the index for the structure at the set time interval.
     • Install Discovery MMV Sync Service — This check box creates the service and synchronizes the MMV index for the structure at the set time interval.

     You can modify the default Service Name and Sync Interval (Seconds) for each service, and also click Start Service option to automatically start the service, if required.

4. In the Components task, complete all required fields until each component shows a 100% completion status.

5. In the Deploy task, generate the deployment scripts and proceed with the deployment based on the given instructions.
