Configuring Systems Engineering > Customizing Visio diagram templates
Default Teamcenter stencils
Note: Microsoft Visio Professional must be installed on your computer; Visio Standard is not supported.
Two default stencil files are provided in the TC_ROOT/install/systemsengineering directory:
FM_Diagram_Stencil.vsx— contains master shapes for the FunctionalModeling application domain (the Function view).LM_Diagram_Stencil.vsx— contains master shapes for the LogicalModeling application domain (the Logical Block view).
The default stencils define master shapes that are mapped to Teamcenter object types. Each stencil is associated with the default diagram template for its designated domain.
Note: The diagram template associates the stencil with a mapping file (.xml). The mapping file's XML entries relate the stencil's master shapes to Teamcenter object types and their properties, so you can apply the shapes in diagrams based on the diagram template.
You can customize the default stencils for site-specific purposes (e.g. to define new master shapes or modify their behavior). You can also create stencils with your own master shapes, then map them to Teamcenter object types you specify. Master shapes can be drawn with Visio drawing tools, reused from different Visio stencils, or pasted from other applications.
