Generate the preview document and resolve any conflicts

Procedure

Choose one of the following options:

Preview the import file as a new import:

1. Click the Teamcenter tab→Requirements group→Flat File Import and choose Import New.
2. Select the Create Links box to preview trace links.

Preview the import file as an updated or revised import:

1. Click the Teamcenter tab→Requirements group→Flat File Import and choose Import Update.
2. Select the Create Links box to preview trace links.
3. Under Import Options, select Revise to preview the revised structure or Update to preview the updated structure.
4. Click Search to search for the specification you want to update or revise.
5. In the Search dialog box, click the Select saved query box and select the property you want to search for. The list of saved queries is displayed. You can also create your own saved query in Teamcenter to search for specific properties.
6. Type the property value you want to search for.
7. Click Search.
8. In the Search Results dialog box, select the requirement specification you want to update or revise.
9. Click OK. The Specification box displays the requirement specification you want to update or revise.

Then, in both cases:

1. Click Preview. The preview document is displayed and has the text -Preview appended to the original filename.
2. Click the indicator symbol in the requirements pane to display the warning or error.
3. If the symbol is displayed next to the requirement object indicating the object is an unresolved trace link, resolve the link:
   • Click the symbol in the requirements pane.
   • In the Conflict Resolution box, select the revision of the requirement object to resolve the trace link.
   • Click OK. The symbol is displayed next to the requirement object indicating the object trace link has been resolved.
