Add a task constraint
You can use constraints to force a shift in the schedule honoring the constraint type. The constraint type is indicated by a red marker on the Gantt chart task bar.
Procedure
Select a task in the task table.
Choose Schedule → Task Constraints.
From the Task Constraints dialog box, choose a constraint type:
Constraint Behavior Gantt chart indicator No Constraint No constraint applied No red arrows As Soon As Possible Works with task dependencies to schedule a task as soon as the task dependency and other scheduling considerations allow Red arrow pointing left As Late As Possible Works with task dependencies to schedule a task as late as the task dependency and other scheduling considerations allow Red arrow pointing right Fixed Fixes the task duration; schedule dates cannot be changed Red arrows pointing both left and right Click OK.
