Releasing checked out licenses

When attempting to release checked-out licenses, consider the following use cases: Use case 1: Acme Corporation has X number of licenses. It purchases an additional number (Y) of licenses, which requires a new license file. Shut down the license server, let the license server read the new license file, and restart the license server with the new license file. Stop the pool manager. By doing this, the cache carrying the licensing information gets reset. Restart the pool manager, which allows Teamcenter to access the newly purchased licenses. Note The licenses-used count within Teamcenter is not cleared. However, the additional newly purchased licenses are immediately available for use. Use case 2: Acme Corporation has X number of licenses and all licenses have already been checked out this month. Acme Corporation wants a different set of users to consume the same licenses and wants to release the checked-out licenses. This cannot happen because Teamcenter counts the licenses as used until the end of the calendar month. The licenses used count resides in the database and cannot be reset. The stability of the licenses used count is critical for auditing purposes and for tracking license usage.
