requirements-management

When you perform a Revise operation on a selected released object, if all of the following conditions are met, all parent nodes to the top of the structure are also marked for Revise:

  • The requirement structure is precise.
  • The BOMview revision (BVR) of the parent object is not open.
  • The parent node is released.

Note: When these conditions are met, the Revise operation is applied to the selected node and all parent nodes to the top of the structure, until an open BOMview revision (BVR) object is found.

Example

The expanded requirement structure in Teamcenter shows the Req1/A;1–Task Reqts requirement, the BOMview revision of the Spec1/A;1–Robot Reqts parent requirement specification, and the Spec1/A;1–Robot Reqts parent requirement specification are all at a released state:

  • Spec1/A;1–Robot Reqts (parent node is released)
    • Spec1/A — Spec1/A-View (BOMview revision is released) — View
    • Req1/A;1–Task Reqts (object selected for Revise)
      • Req1/A — Req1/A-View — Task Reqts — View
    • Req2/A;1–Extraneous Materials

When you export the requirement structure to Word and mark the Req1/A;1–Task Reqts requirement object for Revise, the selected Req1/A;1–Task Reqts requirement object and the Spec1/A;1–Robot Reqts parent requirement specification object are marked for Revise. The revise symbol appears in the structure next to both objects in the Requirements pane.

After you save the changes to Teamcenter, new revisions Spec1/B and Req1/B are created.
