Local load balancing
Configuring load balancing using Deployment Center Perform the following steps to configure load balancing using Deployment Center. Open your environment in Deployment Center. On the Components tab, click Add a component to your environment , select FSC Load Balancer in the Available Components list, and then click Update Selected Components. On the Components tab, select the FSC Load Balancer component and confirm the following settings. Instance Name: A unique identifier for the load balancer. FSC Load Balancer Address: The URL of the load balancer. FSC Load Balancer ID: A unique ID value identifying the load balancer. FSC Group Name: The name of the group the FSC belongs to. Click Save Component Settings, generate deployment scripts, and run the scripts on the target machines. Manually configuring local load balancing In the following example, three volumes are cross-mounted and served by two FSCs (FSC1 and FSC2), which are serviced by an external load balancer. A third FSC services configuration information. Direct FSC routing enables all of the clients to access volume data through the load balancer, which forwards the requests to FSC1 and FSC2. These two FSCs share equal responsibility for providing volume data access to the clients. This implementation of local external load balancing is configured using the following XML code. Any FSC containing a loadbalancerid element lies within the score of the specified load balancer. In this example, FSC1 and FSC2 are within the scope of loadbal. These servers must reference data through the load balancer. All servers within the scope of the same load balancer provide equivalent service in regard to load balanced resources. Copy
