Generate an HSM policy report

Use this report to determine how much data is migrated through a hierarchical storage management (HSM) migration policy. The text report provides an itemized list of the migrated files, the total number of migrated files, and the total size (in bytes) of the migrated data. The pie chart report graphically illustrates the storage space saved by migrating the selected data, relative to the capacity of the source volume. You can save the pie chart report as a JPEG or PNG file. Procedure Open the Volume Management view. From the Policies tree, select an HSM policy. Click the Report tab. The policy name and description appear at the top of the Report pane. Verify that the selected policy is an HSM migration policy. From the Migration Tier section, specify the migration path for the selected policy. Click either Primary-Secondary, Secondary-Tertiary, or Primary-Tertiary. For example, Primary-Secondary reports the migrated data from the primary tier to the secondary tier by the selected policy. (Optional) In the Migration Dates section, select the beginning and end dates for which you want to generate the report. Alternative to the two previous steps, select Load Previously Generated Report to load the last report created. Run the report. Click Report at the bottom of the pane to generate the text-based report. Click PieChart at the bottom of the pane to generate the graphic report. The report appears in the Report section. Manage the report using any of the buttons to the right of the Report section.
