Structure Management on Active Workspace ─ Usage

Configure a structure by effectivity

You can configure product structures using either date effectivity (specifying a single date, a date range, or an end item) or unit effectivity (entering a specific unit or using groups). You can understand how these configurations impact the displayed structure.

You can configure a structure by date effectivity and unit effectivity.

Configure a structure by date effectivity

Procedure

  1. Search for and open the product to be configured.
  2. Perform one of the following actions: Select Date in the header. Click Configure to display the Configure panel. In the Date section, you can select Today or a specific date from the calendar. You can also add a range of dates.

To add a new range of dates: Select Date Range. In the Date Range Effectivity panel, you can add a new range of dates or locate the existing date effectivities from the Search tab. To author a new range of dates inside the New tab: Give a suitable name to the new date range. Select the Start date from the calendar. Select the End date from the calendar. If applicable, you can select UP (all future dates) or SO (stock out). Click Apply. (Optional) To add an end item in the Configure panel: In the End Item section of the Configure panel, click to add the end item. By default, the top-level element is displayed in this section. Search for an end item and select it or choose an end item from the Palette tab.The end item that you selected is displayed in the End Item section on the Configure panel. 3. If you are using the Configure panel, click Configure to apply the date effectivity. Note In the Configure panel, if you select two configurations that are of the same type or nature but with different values, the latest configuration is applied. For example, suppose that you first selected a date range from January 1, 2025 through June 30, 2025 for applying the date effectivity, and then selected a revision rule that already contained an effectivity date from February 1, 2025. In such a case, the structure is configured using the revision rule that contained the effectivity date from February 1, 2025 because the revision rule with the effectivity date is the latest configuration that is applied to the structure.
