Set design properties to split the aligned part occurrences
A design structure can be authored for a specific change notice wherein the design occurrences inherit the release effectivity of the change. After the design structure is aligned with a Usage BOM, the design structure can be updated in the context of another change notice. When the design structure is updated, users must update the corresponding Usage BOM by performing automated or guided update.
If any changes were made to the position information or JT file of a design occurrence that results in effectivity overlap, the corresponding part occurrence is split into two while the Usage BOM is being updated. This is because, by default, these two properties of the design occurrence are specified in the Pma0_DBOM_properties_for_EBOM_split preference.
For example, the position coordinates of a design occurrence are changed, and the new position is effective from July 5, 2023 to December 31, 2023 that overlaps the previous date range of January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. This change will result in splitting the corresponding part occurrence into two so that the older part occurrence is effective from January 1, 2023 to July 4, 2023. And, the new part occurrence is effective from July 5, 2023 to December 31, 2023.
You can specify additional design occurrence properties that must be considered for the split in this preference. You must also enable the effectivity propagation to propagate the effectivity of the latest change notice to the part occurrence.
