FMS considerations for running multiple Teamcenter environments

If for a testing or development purpose you have created multiple Teamcenter environments, either on a single machine or multiple machines, such that there are multiple Teamcenter sites with the same site ID that also have the same volume ID for each of their volumes, then the sites look the same to FMS because they have the same site ID. This is different from regular Teamcenter deployments, which are typically single instance installations on a given server infrastructure. In this testing or development scenario, it is not necessary to move volumes to distinct volume IDs. You can maintain the integrity of the data as long as you keep the sites apart. To keep the sites apart, comply with the following: Do not use Multi-Site. There can be only one primary site. If you use Multi-Site in this scenario, then there is a risk of replicating owned data. Do not share FSCs. There is a risk of checking in data to the wrong system. Warning Production environments must not have duplicate site IDs.
