Create a specification template by copying an existing one

Procedure

  1. In the Home view, select the Spec Template item containing the template that you want to duplicate, and choose File -> Save As.
  2. Click Assign in the Item Details pane of the Save Item As dialog box — the system assigns an item ID and revision ID for the new item.
  3. Type a name for the new item in the Name box. (Optionally, type a description.)
  4. (Optional) Select Open on Create to open the item after it is created.
  5. Click OK. The new Spec Template item and Spec Template Revision are created. The Full Text dataset is copied as a new object of the same name as the original dataset.
  6. (Optional) Rename the Full Text dataset.
