Engineering BOM Management ─ Deployment and Administration

Specify the maximum number of results to be displayed and exported to Excel in the Used in Structures section

Considering the number of structures that you have in your Teamcenter environment, you can control the maximum number of search results to be displayed and exported to Excel in the Used in Structures section on the Where Used tab. You can modify the default value. If you set a very high value, Active Workspace might become unresponsive.

A business user can view an item revision across all assemblies up to the top level in the Used in Structures section on the Where Used tab.

Procedure

  1. From Launcher, click Preferences.

If this option is unavailable, search for it. You can pin it from the search results for future access.

  2. Search for the TC_WhereUsed_Display_Limit preference and modify the default value if required.

By default, a maximum of 50,000 results are displayed in the Used in Structures section. If you change this value in the preference, for example, to 20,000, a maximum of 20,000 results are displayed. If the number of available results exceeds this threshold value, only the first page of the results is displayed. Active Workspace subsequently cancels the export process, and the system displays an error message.

If you specify a very high value, one that is greater than 50,000, Active Workspace might become unresponsive and not display any results.

  3. Search for the TC_WhereUsed_ExportToExcel_Level preference and set a value for it.

This preference controls the number of structure levels to be exported to Excel during a Where Used operation. The valid values are -1 for all levels and a positive integer to specify a limit. The default value is -1. If you set this preference to 1, only immediate parents are exported and so on.
