Remove elements from a structure

Note: When you delete items and structures from the database, they are also deleted from other Teamcenter applications, and they cannot be recalled with the Search feature. In some structures, you cannot delete multiple objects; you must delete them individually.

When you delete an item revision, only that occurrence is deleted. Teamcenter does not delete other revisions of the item or the item itself.

Caution: If you delete the only revision of an item, Teamcenter also deletes the item.

You can delete an item or item revision from a structure even if it is duplicated elsewhere in Teamcenter.

Procedure

1. Select the objects that you want to remove.
   • You can select multiple objects by using the standard Windows functions. Or, select the top object to remove the entire structure.
2. Choose Edit→Remove, or click the Remove button, or press Ctrl-R.
   • The Remove dialog box appears.

   Caution: If any trace links are related to the object selected for remove, a message states that trace links related to the removed object are deleted.

3. Click Yes to continue or click No to cancel the remove operation.

   Note: A progress indicator appears during the remove operation. You can abort the operation by clicking Stop. However, the remove operation may not be fully recoverable.
