Configure the design structure generation

Set revision rules for BOM window construction to generate design structure

While working on two parallel engineering change notices, it is recommended that, you define different revision rules using the following preferences for constructing BOM windows in the background. This helps you avoid configuration issues caused by multiple working revision creations.

These preferences are applied during the first generation of the design structure using a workflow or utility. However, they are ignored during guided updates of the design structure, or when performing drag and drop actions. In case of automated updates, only target preference is used.

Procedure

  1. Set the value of the preference Pma0_EBOM_To_DBOM_Revision_Rule_For_Part as the revision rule name you want to use while constructing the source BOM window. If this preference value is empty, it uses the global revision rule name defined in the preference TC_config_rule_name.
  2. Set the value of the preference Pma0_EBOM_To_DBOM_Revision_Rule_For_Design as the revision rule name you want to use while constructing the target BOM window. If this preference value is empty, the target BOM window uses Working; Any Status.
