About color themes A color theme is a predefined collection of color specifications assigned to appearance areas and bound to a product variant, enabling you to apply consistent color combinations across your product portfolio. Color themes are a central component of your color management workflow. They connect your color specifications library to your product variants, allowing you to apply predefined color combinations to products systematically. Each color theme is bound to a variant rule, which means when you apply the variant to a product, the system automatically applies the associated color theme. A color theme consists of color specifications that are assigned to appearance areas within your product structure. For example, if you have created color specifications for Metallic Silver and Matte Black in your color specifications library, you can organize these specifications into a color theme called Modern Industrial and assign Metallic Silver to the housing appearance area and Matte Black to the trim appearance area. When this theme is bound to a product variant, any product using that variant automatically receives the Modern Industrial color combination. Color themes follow a lifecycle that includes creation, management, and discontinuation. You can create new color themes by selecting color specifications from your color specifications library and assigning them to specific appearance areas. You can edit existing themes to modify their properties and color code assignments as your product requirements evolve. When a color theme is no longer needed, you can discontinue it to prevent its use in new product variants while preserving its historical data and existing assignments in the Bill of Materials.
