Search for a solution variant without using configurator criteria

Procedure In Structure Manager, open a structure. Click Search Solution Variant in the main toolbar. (Optional) Clear the Unmanaged, Managed, or Reuse check box as appropriate. By default, all the options are selected. (Optional) Select the appropriate revision of the BOM line you have selected in the source structure. Click Search in the Search Solution Variants view toolbar. From the search results, double-click a solution variant to open it. Search for a solution variant by using configurator criteria You can search for a solution variant, using the configurator criteria by keeping the Variant Configuration view open while performing the search.

Procedure In Structure Manager, open a structure. Click Set option values for selected module on the main toolbar to open the Variant Configuration view and select some option values. Click Search Solution Variant on the main toolbar. (Optional) Clear the Unmanaged, Managed, or Reuse check box as appropriate. By default, all the options are selected. (Optional) Select the appropriate revision of the BOM line you have selected in the source structure. Click Search on the Search Solution Variants view toolbar. Examples You can use the Overlay or the Order configuration mode to search for solution variants. The difference between these modes is that the defaults are considered only for the Order mode. For example, if you search for solution variants that are configured using a 12V battery in the Overlay mode, the search considers only the 12V selection. However, in the Order mode, the search results for solution variants configured using a 12V battery are different. The search results are different because the 12V battery and the defaults such as NiMh, DC motor, and Right only are also considered in the Order mode.
