Configuring Systems Engineering > Custom requirement templates
Apply a requirement template revision to a business object
With the TCM Released workflow status assigned to the template revision and Word dataset, create an item revision definition configuration (IRDC) in the Business Modeler IDE. This IRDC applies the revision and dataset to the requirement business object that you select.
Procedure
- In the Business Modeler IDE, open the Extensions and Document Management folders, right-click the IRDC folder, and choose New IRDC. The New IRDC wizard opens.
- On the IRDC Base Criteria page, create the IRDC object:
- In the Name box, type the name of the new IRDC.
- In the Description box, type a description.
- Next to Applies to Business Object, click Browse and select the item revision business object to which the IRDC applies. (Note: you can select only children of the ItemRevision business object.)
- Next to Condition, click Browse and select the condition that determines when the new IRDC applies. (Note: if the IRDC applies to all objects of a type, use the
isTruecondition; you can also create your own condition.) - Next to Create Template, click Browse and select your new custom requirement template.
- Optionally, next to Specification Export Template, select the template used when the item revision specification document is exported.
- Optionally, next to Object Export Template, select the template used when the item revision is exported.
- Click Next to open the IRDC Dataset Criteria page.
- Next to the Source Dataset table, click Add to open the Select Source Dataset Type dialog box.
- Specify the source dataset subclass and its relation to the template revision:
- Next to Source Dataset, click Browse and select FullText.
- Next to Item Revision Relation, click Browse and select IMAN_specification.
- Click Finish to close the Select Source Dataset Type dialog box.
- On the IRDC Dataset Criteria page, click Finish to create the IRDC object and close the New IRDC wizard.
- Tip: click Next instead of Finish to enter optional information — naming rules for the dataset, system actions on check-in, deep-copy rules for the template revision, and markup rules for the dataset.
- To save the changes to the data model, choose BMIDE -> Save Data Model, or click the Save Data Model button on the main toolbar.
- Deploy the template.
