requirements-management

Procedure

  1. Open the requirements structures in live Word using one of the following methods:

    • Open an offline Word document containing a requirement structure previously exported from Teamcenter Systems Engineering.
    • Open and load a Teamcenter requirements structure from the Teamcenter ribbon in Word.

The requirements structure appears in the Requirements pane in Word.

  2. In the Requirements pane in Word, in the source structure, right-click the requirement object that you want to copy, and choose Copy.

  3. In the Requirements pane in Word, in the destination structure, right-click the target object in the location where you want to add the requirement object to the structure, and choose Paste.

Note: The destination structure can be within the same Word document or in a different Word document.

The requirement object that you copied from the source structure is added to the destination structure, as a child of the target object.

  4. (Optional) Repeat step 3 if you want to create multiple occurrences of the same copied requirement object.

  5. Commit the requirement structure changes to Teamcenter.

If you are working online and connected to Teamcenter, perform the following steps for the documents containing the destination structure:

    • Click the Save button or choose File→Save in Word to save the changes in Teamcenter.
    • In the Save dialog box, if you checked out the objects before the export, select Save and Check-in to check in the objects.
    • Click OK. The document is saved and the changes are made in Teamcenter.

If you are working in an offline document and not connected to Teamcenter, perform the following steps for the document containing the destination structure:

    • Close the Word document and reopen it.
    • In the Synchronize dialog box, select the Commit my changes to Teamcenter, and then synchronize option and then click Synchronize.
    • In the Save dialog box, if you checked out the objects before the export, select Save and Check-in to check in the objects.
    • Click OK.
    • Complete the Teamcenter Login dialog box and then click Login to log on to Teamcenter.
    • Click OK. The document is saved and the changes are made in Teamcenter.
