Create a dashboard report for structure readiness (example)
You can create a dashboard report for structure readiness to gather data about the components of the selected structure.
The following is an example of how to create a structure readiness report. After creating the report definition, you can search and select a product structure, and generate a report. This report traverses the selected structure to display information about its components, such as, their release status, how many of them are in process, the date released, and the date modified.
Procedure
- Create the report definition and add the data for the report. From Launcher, click Reports. If this option is unavailable, search for it. You can pin it from the search results for future access. In My Dashboard or Templates, choose More Commands > New > Create Report. From Type, select Active item report.
- Search for the data you want to include in the report.In the Search Item panel, for example, type hard drive to search for an item revision such as Hard Drive Assembly, and click Select.
- To add the relations, click Add and click Pin Panel to add multiple relations. The system displays all the possible relations of the source object. Column name Description Relation (Object) Displays the relation name and the type of object this particular relation returns. Relation Type Displays the relation type such as primary, secondary, reference, or referenced by. Count Displays the number of objects that are related.
- Select the appropriate relation object and click Add. Keep adding relations as appropriate.
- Select a layout for the report and add chartsYou must first create the report definition and add the data for the report before you can select a layout and add charts and a table. Specify a report title. Specify the number of charts you want to add for this report by selecting the appropriate option. Select Bar Chart, Pie Chart, or Line Chart for the type of chart you want to create. To create a layout for the report, click Edit. To add a property for the chart, from the Chart On list, select a value, for example, Owner.You can specify a title for the chart type or accept the default title. To add the second and third charts, repeat step 5.c through step 5.e. You can choose other properties such as Date modified and Release Status in the Chart On panel for the second and the third chart.To use additional Chart On properties, use the REPORT_AW_ItemReport_Objects_FilterProperties preference.You can work with all Teamcenter preferences from within Active Workspace by using the Preferences page. After creating more than one chart, to move the chart, click … More Commands and select the appropriate option.
- To display the data in a tabular format, add a table for the report. In the TABLE area, click Table Settings > Arrange. From Available Columns, select column name properties such as Name and ID, and click to move them to Displayed Columns.Be sure to add the Type column. (Optional) To rearrange the columns in the table, in the Column Name area, select a column name, click the column widget, and move the column up or down. To save the column arrangement, click Arrange. (Optional) To add additional columns to the table, use the REPORT_AW_ObjectType_Properties preference.
- Save the report as a template. To save the report as a template, click Save as Template. (Mandatory) Specify a name for the report. (Optional) Include a description. Select the appropriate thumbnail option. Click Save.
- Edit the report from Templates. Navigate to the Templates location. Search for the report definition you want to edit, select it, and choose More Commands > Edit > Edit Report. Make the necessary changes and save the report.
- Generate the report. Search for the item revision for which you want to generate the report, for example, Hard Drive Assembly. Select the item revision and then choose More Commands > New > Generate Report. Select the report definition you created and click Generate.The report is generated by fetching the latest data from the database. To apply a different revision rule, click Edit Report Criteria in the Reports tab in the secondary work area, and select a revision rule. The report is updated based on your selection.By default, the system displays the Latest Working revision rule.
