Create a precise baseline You can create a baseline of the item revision that represents a structure at any stage. You create precise baselines to preserve the state of a structure at a particular checkpoint. A baseline revision is created for all the elements in the structure, irrespective of the element selected. After a precise baseline is created, you cannot further modify it. After creating a precise baseline, when you open it, you must configure it again to view the exact structure that you want to view. For example, when you open a precise baseline, you must select the revision rule and variant to view the exact configuration of the structure. Restrictions and limitations You cannot create a precise baseline for a collaborative product EBOM. Procedure Locate the structure that you want to create a baseline for and click Open . Click New > Baseline . In the Baseline panel, click the Precise check box. (Optional) In the Baseline Workflow list, modify the default baseline workflow. By default, the TC Default Baseline Process workflow is selected. (Optional) In the Description box, enter a description for the precise baseline. Do one of the following: To create a revision baseline Do this Asynchronously (in the background) Select the Run in Background check box. Synchronously (in the foreground) Clear the Run in Background check box. When creating a precise baseline, the Run in Background check box is selected by default. If you clear the Run in Background check box, Teamcenter remembers your choice. The next time you log on, the check box is not selected. Note If you want to create the revision baseline asynchronously, you must have the AsyncService translator installed, configured, and running for the baseline feature to operate properly. If you want to open the baseline immediately after it is created, click the Open on Create check box. Click Create. The precise baseline is created and is available in the Revision History table of the History tab. If you selected the Run in Background check box, a notification is displayed in the Alerts panel.
