requirements-management

In a live Word document, the Requirements pane contains an expandable tree that shows the object hierarchy of an exported structure. From the Requirements pane, you can access features for editing requirements and paragraphs and modifying the structure. You can select the object in the Requirements pane to find the main content control for a requirement or paragraph.

The Requirements pane opens automatically in offline live Word documents.

Procedure

  1. On the Teamcenter tab, click the Navigate button, and choose Browse or Folder View.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • In the Navigation browse pane: click Requirements View to display your recently opened specifications; right-click the specification that you want to load in the Requirements pane, and then choose Open.
    • In the Folder View, right-click the specification that you want to load in the Requirements pane, and then choose Open.
  3. In the Load Structure dialog box, select one of the following options:
    • Load structure with contents — Opens a new Word window, with the structure in the Requirements pane and all requirement content in the document. Each requirement's level and position in the structure matches the related content's heading number and location in the document. You can select a requirement in the structure to navigate to its content in the document.

Tip: In the Template Override list, you can select the object template to apply to the content. This selection overrides the object template selected in exporting the structure.

    • Load structure only — Opens a new Word window with only the structure in the Requirements pane. The content pane is empty. You can right-click a requirement in the structure and choose Open to display the content in a new Word window.

Tip: To bypass the Load Structure dialog box for opening subsequent structures, select Remember my choice for this session. With this setting, the option you first select is valid until you close all interactive live Word documents.

Note: The Word_Show_Display_Name preference determines the display names to be shown by default for the objects in the Requirements pane. Display names are configured using the DisplayName property in the Business Modeler IDE.
