Configure electrical harness structure for visualization and alignment in Teamcenter

You can configure how electrical harness structure can be visualized and aligned in Teamcenter when the electrical CAD data is imported from electrical and electronics (E/E) systems development software like Capital and mechanical CAD data is imported from CAD software like NX.

Procedure

  1. From Launcher, click Preferences.

    If this option is unavailable, search for it. You can pin it from the search results for future access.

  2. Search for and open the FND0_OCC_ATTRS_VALID_ITEM_TYPES preference.

  3. Enter the values that are valid item types for an occurrence attribute object type.

    For example, enter Fnd0OccAlignmentAttrs:Part;TestPart.

  4. Search for and open the HMC0_ITEM_TYPES_TO_DEFAULT_ELECTRICAL_TYPE preference.

  5. Enter the values that specify the default value for the Electrical Type property in the HRN_ITEM_TYPE:Default Electrical Type Value format.

    Lifecycle Visualization uses the Electrical Type property for displaying the context menus to engineering users for different HRN Item types. If nothing is set, then the specified default value is shown. You must specify the default value in this preference.

    For example, enter Hmc0TestPart:Test. If nothing is set explicitly, the default value for the Electrical Type property is set to Test for Hmc0TestPart.

  6. Search for and open the HMC0_ITEM_TYPES_TO_ELECTRICAL_PROPERTY_MAPPING preference.

  7. Enter the values that specify the mapping of the Electrical Type property for item types.

    For example, enter HRN_GeneralWire:hmc0ElectricalType.

    Enter more values for the Electrical Type property considering business requirement. For example, enter HRN_Custom_Type:<CustomProperty>.
