Install the Teamcenter management console using TEM

This procedure describes using TEM to install the Teamcenter management console. Deployment Center can also be used to install the Teamcenter management console component. Procedure In the Features panel of Teamcenter Environment Manager (TEM), under Server Enhancements select Teamcenter Management Console and click Next until you reach the Management Console LDAP Configurations panel. On the Management Console LDAP Configurations panel, do this: Select one of Use Embedded LDAP or Use External LDAP. Enter parameters for the selected LDAP. Use Embedded LDAP Supplies an embedded lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) to facilitate authentication and authorization. There is no support for multiple embedded LDAP servers. If you use embedded LDAP, then both the Teamcenter management console and the server manager must reside on the same host. Use External LDAP Allows you to point to your own LDAP server. For failover purposes, multiple external LDAPs are supported. To support failover, the multiple LDAP servers must have similar LDAP configurations. Parameter Description Protocol Select the type of security protocol: ldap, ldaps (secure ldap), or tls (transport layer security). Host Type the name where the stand-alone LDAP server resides. Port Type the port used by the LDAP instance to listen for connections. Partition Type the unique name of the LDAP partition. Users Type the name for the list of users to receive LDAP permission. The default value is ou=Users. User Object Class Type the class for the users to receive LDAP permission. The default value is inetOrgPerson. User Attribute Type the attribute that users must have to receive LDAP permission. User Filter (optional) Type the LDAP-formatted filter to narrow the pool of authorized users. Use the following format: (attribute1=value1)(attributeN=valueN) Click Next. In the JMX Configuration panel, for each of the server components that you want to view in the Teamcenter management console, add the component and enter its parameter values. If you add a Web Tier component here, then you will later need to configure its web app server. Parameter Description Type Select one of Server Manager or Web Tier. ID Type the ID of the component. For example, type PoolA for the default server manager pool or Teamcenter1 for the default web tier. Tip Obtain the server manager pool name from the smgrPoolId value in the TC_ROOTinstall\configuration.xml file. Obtain the web tier ID from the Web Application Manager used to create the web tier application. Host Type the host name of the machine running the server. JMX RMI Port Type the JMX RMI port number for the server. To find the correct JMX port for your web server, see your web server documentation. Note For JBoss web tier configuration, use default port 9999. For Tomcat and WebSphere, use default port 8089. In the Communication Configuration panel, do one of the following: Accept the default port 8083. Select the Enable SSL check box and enter parameters to use secure communication. Parameter Description Https Port Type the port to be used for HTTPS communication. KeyStore Type the full path and file name to the keystore file. KeyStore Type Type the file extension for the keystore. KeyStore Password Type the password to the keystore. The password can be entered as plain text or as a password obfuscated using a utility such as jetty. KeyManager Password Type the manager password to the keystore. After you enter all the installation information, in the Confirmation panel click Start to install the Teamcenter management console.
