Volume Management view interface
1 Volume Management tabs The Definition tab displays options for defining volume management (VM) migration policies and hierarchical storage management (HSM) migration policies. Use this tab to define various migration policies by applying migration options and metadata query options to a specific policy. The Migration tab displays preview and migration options for specific migration policies. Use this tab to preview the impact of a migration policy, and to implement migration policies. The Report tab displays migration report options. Use this tab to create pie charts and textual reports. Reports can be printed or saved to a file. 2 Policies tree Displays migration policies that you have created. Migration policies define what data will be migrated. You can create VM migration policies and HSM migration policies. 3 Policy Type and Policy Status Use the Definition tab to select the type of policy you want to manage: VM or HSM. You can also set the policy status. 4 Volume Migration Options Selection of the policy type (VM or HSM) determines which migration options appear. 5 Additional Migration Options Selection of the policy type (VM or HSM) also determine which additional migration options appear. 6 Metadata Query Options Use the MetaData Query Options functionality to further filter which files are migrated. Select a workspace object type from the Saved Queries list to limit migration to files of the selected object type. You can further filter which files are migrated, refining the saved query using the workspace object fields (name, Item ID, and so on).
