Copy a structure element as a new object

In the Requirements, Function, and Logical block views, you can save time in building a structure by copying an existing element as a new object. Using this method, you create a unique object rather than a reference to the source object.

Procedure

1. Right-click the source object and choose Copy.

   Note: Children of the source object are copied with the parent.

2. Select the object in the structure below which you want to paste the new object.

   Note: Select only one target object. If you select multiple objects, the duplicated object is pasted only to the first selected object.

3. Click Paste as New on the application toolbar, or right-click the target object and choose Paste as New.

The new object appears below the selected object. Any children of the source object are included as new objects below the new parent.
