Administer logging levels with the Teamcenter management console
You can change logging levels dynamically for server manager pools, the web tier, or tcserver instances. The following dynamic changes are temporary. To make persistent changes, modify the TC_ROOT\pool_manager\confs<config_name>\log4j2.xml file. Select the component, click Log Levels, browse to the element for which you want to change the logging, and click the arrow on the box to select a different log level. The bold text in the priority level indicates the level is configured explicitly, for example, INFO in the following example. The entries with an asterisk indicate that the priority level is inherited from its parent, for example, ERROR*. Perform the following steps to learn how to navigate to the logging for each type of component (server manager, web tier, and tcserver). Procedure Start the Teamcenter management console. By default, the address is http://host:8083/mgmt/console. Under Server Manager, select a server pool and click Log Levels. To access logging for the web tier, select the web tier instance and click Log Levels. Perform the following steps to access logging for a tcserver instance: Select TcServer and click the Search button. The available instances are displayed. Select a tcserver instance. Click Logging to set the kind of logging you want for the selected instance. To mitigate security risks, the ability to download syslog and journal files is disabled by default. As a Teamcenter administrator, you can enable this ability by setting the Teamcenter TC_ENABLE_DEBUGMONITOR_FILE_DOWNLOAD environment variable to a value of "true" (all lowercase). Click Log Levels to change the levels for Teamcenter elements in the selected tcserver instance.
