Modify FCC parent settings
You can specify the FMS server caches (FSCs) used by the FMS client cache (FCC). The FCC can have multiple parent FSCs to use in case of failover. FSCs are used in the priority you specify. Modifying parent settings using Deployment Center Install Teamcenter as described in Teamcenter Installation Using Deployment Center, ensuring the following items are configured appropriately in Deployment Center. Procedure On the Deployment Center Components tab, select Teamcenter Client Communication System in the Selected Components list. In the General Settings section of the Teamcenter Client Communication System parameters, select the method to assign FSCs: clientmap Routes FCC data requests to the assignedfsc elements specified within the clientmap section of the fmsmaster_fscid.xml configuration file. parentfsc Routes FCC data requests to the list of parentfsc elements specified in the fcc.xml configuration file. Use this setting when the default client mapping setting is not efficient. In the Communication to other components section of the Teamcenter Client Communication System parameters, specify the following values of the FSC from which to download the FMS configuration information. FSC Connection URL Priority Transport Path FSCs are used in the priority you specify, with 0 being the highest priority, 1 the second highest, and so on. Update the Priority value as necessary for your desired failover order. Modifying parent settings using TEM Use the following steps to modify FCC parent setting using TEM. Procedure In the Feature Maintenance panel of TEM, under Client Communication Setting, select Modify FCC Parent settings and click Next. The FCC Parents panel is displayed. From the FSC assignment mode list, select the method to assign FSCs: clientmap Routes FCC data requests to the assignedfsc elements specified within the clientmap section of the fmsmaster_fscid.xml configuration file. parentfsc Routes FCC data requests to the list of parentfsc elements specified in the fcc.xml configuration file. Use this setting when the default client mapping setting is not efficient. In the FCC Parents table, add the FSC parents and set their priority. This table specifies from which FSCs to download the FMS configuration information. FSCs are used in the priority you specify. You may specify multiple parent FSCs to provide failover. The values entered are placed into the parentfsc node of the FMS_HOME/fcc.xml file. Click Next until you reach the Confirmation panel and then click Start. The FCC parent settings are saved.
