Set properties to be copied to a part in an engineering BOM

When you generate or update an engineering BOM (Usage BOM or Assembly BOM), some properties are copied by default. You can specify additional properties, including custom ones, to be copied during this process. You must map properties on the BOMLine object before generating or updating the BOM.

When you want to generate an engineering BOM, you can set the properties to be copied to a part using the preference PMA0_COPY_PROP_DESIGN_TO_PART_GENERATE. When you want to update an engineering BOM, you can set the properties to be copied to a part using the preference PMA0_COPY_PROP_DESIGN_TO_PART_UPDATE.

You must use the internal name of the property you want to copy. For example, to copy the name property, you can specify bl_rev_object_name:bl_rev_object_name in the preference.

Note

During a manual alignment, design properties are not copied to the corresponding parts.

You can specify multiple values for copying. If any value is invalid, the property will not be copied to the part, but the design will still align with the generated part.

During an update scenario, the update preference works only when there is a modification in the structure. If property values are deleted in the source structure, these deletions are not copied to the target structure, even if the property is specified in the update preference.

Only following types of properties are copied:

• Supported property types: string, short, integer, logical, double, float, date
• Unsupported property types: type reference, relation
• Exceptions: Properties such as bl_uom and bl_occ_effectivity are supported even though they are type reference properties.
