Server manager prerequisites

Before using the server manager, you must: Procedure Install the server manager. Using Deployment Center: In the Components tab, select the Server Manager component. Using Teamcenter Environment Manager (TEM): In the Features panel, under the Server Enhancements category, select the Server Manager component. Note To balance the sessions load among multiple server managers, each server manager must have the same Cluster ID (that is, use the same server manager database). The Cluster ID value is stored in the MANAGER_CLUSTER_ID property in the TC_ROOT\pool_manager\serverPooldatabase-name.properties file. Configure pool-specific properties. Once server pools are configured, pool-specific configuration of each machine included in the pool should be tuned. This is of particular concern if machines differ greatly in the number and power of CPUs. The pool-specific parameters are set in the TC_ROOT\pool_manager\serverPooldatabase-name.properties file. (Optional) Configure web tier administration. By default, administering of web tier metrics and logging behavior is disabled. Enable administration of web tier metrics and logging by resetting the mode attribute in the pref_export.xml file. Ensure that the server manager service or daemon is running. The server manager service or daemon is necessary to enable four-tier rich clients to connect to the corporate server. Example On a Windows system, choose Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services and select Teamcenter Server Manager. You can also manually run the server manager service by running the following executable: TC_ROOT\pool_manager\confs\configuration-namemgrstart.bat Tip To verify that the server manager is running, launch the server manager user interface from a web browser. For example, to start the interface, use the http://host-name:8083/mgmt/console address.
