Create substitute component

Procedure Copy the substitute item revision to the clipboard in Structure Manager or another application. Select the line in the product structure in Structure Manager for which you want to define this item revision as a substitute. You can also add a substitute to more than one line in a single operation by selecting all the necessary line. If the lines are packed, unpack them before you select them. Choose Edit→Paste Substitute to paste the substitute directly. You can also choose Edit→Paste Special and click As Substitute of Selected Line in the resulting dialog box. You can also type in the item identifier of the substitute directly, by selecting the line in the structure, choosing Edit→Add..., and clicking As Substitute of Selected Line in the resulting dialog box.
