Enable adding spare parts to an aligned bought-out part
Spare parts can be added to a Supplier Part. If your legacy engineering BOM (Usage BOM or Assembly BOM) contains an aligned bought-out or piece part with its Assembly Indicator set to Component, and you intend to add a spare part to this component, you must change the assembly indicator from Component to Supplier Part.
You can do this manually or by using the pma0_migrate_piece_part_data utility.
Use the following syntax to run the utility:
pma0_migrate_piece_part_data -u=<username> -p=<password> | -pf=<password file> -g=<group> -rootItemId=<ebom root id>
Optional parameters:
- -dryRun — It lists the impacted parts, with the default value set to false.
- -revRule — This is the revision rule to be considered for configuring the BOM structure and its default is set to Working; Any Status.
For detailed information about this utility and its arguments, run the utility as follows: pma0_migrate_piece_part_data -h. The -h argument displays the help that describes each argument in detail.
Subsequently, you can add spare parts to the aligned bought-out parts, which now have the assembly indicator set to Supplier Part.
