Designing functional and logical architectures > Diagramming architectures in Microsoft Office Visio

Open a diagram from the Function or Logical Block view

To identify which object owns the diagram you want, you can insert the bl_rev_Fnd0Diagram_Attaches property column in the view. Each cell value shows that object's diagram items and item revisions.

Note Microsoft Visio Professional must be installed on your computer; Visio Standard is not supported. If another diagram is open, close it before you start this procedure — Teamcenter allows only one open diagram at a time. The diagram owner does not appear in the diagram.

Procedure

  1. In the Function or Logical Block view, select the diagram owner and choose Tools→Diagram→Open Diagram (or right-click the diagram owner and choose Open Diagram).
  2. If the selected object owns two or more diagrams, the Select Diagram to Open dialog box displays the diagrams. Select the diagram and click OK.

A new view opens with the diagram owner at the top level, and the diagram opens in the Visio Diagram view. The contents are automatically updated with any changes in the structure since the diagram was last closed.

Note The Visio Diagram view for Visio 2010 and 2013 does not contain the Office ribbon. Those features are available through shortcut menus in the view — for example, you can select shape editing features by right-clicking a shape and choosing Format.

Tip You can also open a diagram from your Home view. In the Newstuff folder, right-click the diagram and choose Open Diagram.
